- What is a “Hedgehog”?
- In definition a “Hedgehog” is a “small nocturnal Old World mammal covered with both hair and protective spikes.”
However, when we think of a “Hedgehog” we mean one of our exclusive environmentally-friendly electric recycling eco- advans! Fitted with a model of Seymour Green (the head of our “Hedgehog” family), they roam the streets of London providing the perfect outdoor advertising platform. They engage the public who are then able to interact with our clients through our recycling apertures on the sides of the vans and our Bluetooth Mobile Media download function used for promotions, games and many other opportunities. - How do the eco-advans work?
- Simple! The vehicle is plugged into an electrical plug to charge and then runs off an emissions-free engine. Road transport counts for as much as 20% of the world’s Carbon emissions.
- How many vans do you have?
- We have a constantly expanding fleet, but at the moment we have ten.
- How far in advance do we need to book?
- We usually recommend booking at least a week in advance to allow us to prepare and so that we can guarantee the “Hedgehog” will be available, but we understand that some projects might be more urgent. If you need a “Hedgehog” at short notice just let us know and we will do our best to get one ready for you.
- What does Carbon Offsetting mean?
- A carbon offset is a financial instrument aimed at a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Carbon offsets are measured in metric tons of carbon dioxide-equivalent (CO2e) and may represent six primary categories of greenhouse gases. Usually they are measured on a ton by ton basis.
- Will using the “Hedgehog” reduce my carbon footprint?
- The “Hedgehog” itself can reduce your carbon footprint should you decide to replace less sustainable marketing techniques with this solution.
- How many hours a day will my advert show?
- Your advert will be on display to the public from the hours of 8 till 8 either parked or driving in between the designated locations.
- Can I decide where the Hedgehog is deployed to?
- Of course! If you have a promotion happening in a specific store/place or if there is a particular company you would like to target we can park the “Hedgehog” precisely where you want it (subject to parking restrictions and availability).
- Can you supply the artwork for the advertising?
- We work with a highly professional design team who will be more than happy to provide your artwork for a discounted price.
- How does the recycling mechanism work?
- Each vehicle is uniquely constructed to include two apertures on either side which are evenly distributed, allowing easy access for the depositing of bottles and cans without intereferring with the prime advertising space available. Water tight internal waste shoots lead from the apertures directly into the vehicle, allowing all waste to be collected in waste collection bags.
- We just want to advertise. Is it possible to remove the recycling mechanism?
- Our hedgehogs are available to clients wishing to use it solely for its carbon neutral attribute. If they require them without recycling facilities then it can be arranged subject to T&Cs.
- Can the ‘Hedgehogs’ be used outside London?
- We can make special arrangements for our ‘Hedgehogs’ to be used outside London if necessary. Due to the nature of the vehicles they only have a certain amount of battery power and will need to be transported there via alternative methods (that may not be as sustainable). Therefore it is possible that you will incur a charge for the extra service.
- How can I keep track of my vehicle?
- You can view the location of our ‘Hedgehogs’ by using our Map & Track system.
- Does Seymour Green offer any other services?
- Seymour Green is part of Trading Offsets Ltd which will be officially offering its services in 2010. Neutral Benefits invest in carbon reduction projects in Russia and Africa known as CDM and JI projects. The projects are designed to reduce CO2 emissions to create carbon credits, which are then sold on to countries and companies who require them to reach their own emission targets.
